J.J. BUGGER LEAD EYE

SKU 5055-5063 Categories , ,
J.J. Bugger with lead eyes is a weighted streamer that imitates baitfish and leeches. A deadly pattern for trout, bass & other predatory species in deep water.

J.J. Bugger Lead Eye is a hard-hitting streamer pattern built to get down fast and stay in the strike zone. Featuring lead dumbbell eyes, a rich marabou tail, a flashy body, and rubber legs, these fly fishing flies bring serious weight and movement—perfect for targeting predatory fish in deeper water or fast current.

Designed as a cousin to the classic Woolly Bugger, the J.J. Bugger adds extra bulk and bounce, giving it a more erratic, wounded-minnow action. The contrasting color scheme (commonly olive, brown, and yellow or rust) imitates sculpins, leeches, and juvenile baitfish. The lead eyes provide a jigging motion that triggers reaction strikes, especially when dropped or stripped aggressively.

It’s a killer fly for trout in high water or stained conditions, and equally effective for smallmouth bass, largemouth, and even stillwater predators. Fish it on a sink-tip or full-sink line to cover structure, undercut banks, or deep pools.

Whether you’re probing early spring runoff or late fall tailouts, the J.J. Bugger Lead Eye delivers big-fish results. Rugged, versatile, and built to move water—it’s a top choice when you want your fly noticed. The JJ Special’s combination of rubber legs, a two-tone tail, and a buggy profile makes it an effective imitation of various aquatic creatures, such as crayfish or juvenile trout. The added weight of the conehead or jig hook allows it to be fished in deeper water and create a jigging action that fish find irresistible
