LIGHTNING BUG CDC B.H.

SKU EF309-310 Categories ,
Lightning Bug CDC B.H. combines flash with CDC movement and bead head weight, perfect for trout in pocket water, riffles, and technical tailwaters.

Lightning Bug CDC B.H. is a dynamic nymph that blends flashy attraction with natural movement—making it a go-to fly for trout feeding in diverse conditions. Built on the classic Lightning Bug chassis, this version incorporates CDC fibers in the thorax or collar to give it subtle, lifelike motion during the drift.

The segmented flash body imitates emerging mayflies, midges, or even small caddis, while the bead head (usually brass or tungsten) ensures it sinks quickly and gets into the strike zone fast. The CDC adds buoyancy and flow, mimicking gill movement and bringing the pattern to life in slower seams or deeper pools.

Whether you’re tight-line nymphing, swinging it through riffles, or dropping it below a hopper, this pattern works. It’s especially productive during shoulder seasons—when fish are feeding aggressively but still inspecting fly movement and silhouette closely.

Use the Lightning Bug CDC B.H. in clear or slightly off-colored water for maximum effectiveness. It’s an excellent choice in two-fly rigs, either as a flashy lead or a trailing attractor behind a drab primary.
