MICRO MAYFLY B.H.

SKU N12.20.51 Categories ,
Micro Mayfly B.H. features a slim segmented body and bead head for a natural drift. A realistic nymph pattern for trout feeding on small mayflies year-round.

The Micro Mayfly Bead Head (B.H.) is a finely crafted nymph pattern designed to imitate small mayfly nymphs that trout feed on throughout the year. Because many mayfly species are tiny, trout often key in on smaller imitations, especially in highly pressured rivers and technical tailwaters. The Micro Mayfly B.H. provides the slim, segmented body and natural movement needed to fool even the most selective fish.

The fly features a delicate, tapered body, fine ribbing, and a small bead head that provides just enough weight to get the pattern into the strike zone while keeping the drift natural. Its understated appearance makes it versatile for imitating Baetis, Pale Morning Duns, and other small mayfly species. Fished as part of a nymph rig, under an indicator, or in a Euro-nymph setup, it performs reliably in both slow and fast water.

The Micro Mayfly B.H. is most effective during spring and fall mayfly hatches but remains a year-round producer in streams and tailwaters where small insects dominate the trout’s diet. Its realism and effectiveness make it an essential fly for anglers targeting selective trout. This fly was made famous in the Sacramento River area.
