Colorado Fishing License

What is a Colorado Fishing License?

Colorado offers some of the best places to fly fish in the nation, and we owe it to our Parks and Wildlife service to help keep rivers, lakes, and streams stocked with healthy fish. One of the ways we help fund these programs is through fees collected by purchasing a Colorado fishing license.

The Colorado Fish and Wildlife division split up all fees collected from Colorado fishing licenses between the state’s seven regions, which are used for fish and wildlife conservation programs for that area. Purchasing a Colorado fishing license can help protect Colorado fisheries from future declines in fish populations.

In order to fish in Colorado, you must have a valid Colorado fishing license at all times. Fishing without a Colorado fishing license could result in a fine of up to $1000.
